  When this store first opened it was great, but lately it has really gone down. We had several things done here on our vehicles when they first opened; brakes, struts, and tires. The last time we went in to get brakes done on the 2008 Nissan Altima, back brakes only, and they said it would be a couple hours. Eight hours later, we had to wait there, they were done and I was not happy. They did give me a really good discount but I made sure they understood I didn't like seeing them work on the vehicle then stand around jawing, going to another vehicle for an hour and them coming back to mine. At one point they had six "mechanics" on one vehicle and it wasn't mine.
  
  A little while later I took my 2004 Nissan Xterra I had just purchased to get an alignment. They had someone on it that I am not sure knew what they were doing. They spent about an hour heating up the lock nuts so they could loosen them to make the needed adjustments on the front wheels. The "mechanic" burst through the door yelling how there was no way he could get the nuts loose. The manager was not happy as everyone in the lobby could hear him yelling. They gave me my truck back without an alignment and no charge but now it was way worse than when I brought it in. They said that the nuts were so seized up that the parts would need to be replaced in order to do an alignment. They also said that my drivers front wheel bearing was bad and needed replacement. Also they indicated both front calipers were seized up and needed replacement. They gave me an estimate, costing lots of money, and I went on my way.
  
  I contacted the dealership about the issues they told me about and they said they will check it out and fix anything that needed to be. So I took the truck to the dealership and they looked over everything. First, it took the mechanic at the dealership about two minutes to loosen the lock nuts. He did notice that due to them heating the part they damaged it so bad it needed to be replaced, which dealership did for me along with the alignment. As to the calipers, they were fine. The issue was the "mechanic" at Mavis was trying to push in one of the cylinders in on a dual cylinder caliper, it is not possible to do that without ruining the caliper which they did. Again the dealership replaced the calipers damaged by Mavis' "mechanics". The wheel bearing was fine, no play in it at all. The dealership mechanic did notice that the Mavis "mechanic" burned both of my CV joint boots when they were attempting to do my alignment. Mavis only would replace one because they said that they only saw damage on one of them. I showed them the damage on the other but they said it wasn't significant enough and refused to replace that one.
  
  So to recap Mavis couldn't do a simple alignment and said I needed hundreds of dollars in repairs that I really didn't need. They also refused to fix all the parts that they damaged while attempting an alignment. The dealership I bought the truck from fixed the issues that they created and found that what they said needed repair actually didn't. All of this at ZERO cost to me.
  
  Needless to say I would now NEVER recommend any Mavis to anyone that needs car repairs. Stay away from any corporate places like this, they are on commission and push things that are not necessary. It seems like most of their "mechanics" are right out of school or don't know what they are doing. Find a good independent local garage and stick with them. I did and I am extremely happy now.
